Our service runs from early spring until the leaves drop in the fall. As with many river systems, most of the fish are spawning in the spring. The months of March and April may be finicky with the weather, but it is the absolute best time to catch a six pound plus smallmouth. Getting in to May and June produces steadier river flows and large fish as well as increased numbers. July and August puts the fish hard into the summer pattern of eating just about anything. The months of September and October brings low flows, clear water, and hungry fish as they feed up for the winter months. Just about any time is a good time to come to the New River. Come join New River Trophy Outfitters and let us show you the best fishing the river has to offer.
